Lori Cohen Scher
Lori Cohen Scher serves as Assistant Dean for University Life Arlington, providing strategic leadership for student life at Mason’s Arlington Campus. In this capacity she facilitates the provision of core University Life and academic/enrollment programs and services and implements programs and professional development initiatives aimed at fostering a unified campus community for the Arlington Campus student population. Lori also oversees assessment, reporting, and data management related to Arlington Campus student needs and learning outcomes, and she continually promotes collaboration between academic units, student organizations, and external partners.
Lori also serves in a part-time role as Director of Academics for Mason’s Higher Education Program. In this capacity she is responsible for supervision of the Doctor of Arts (D.A.) Internship and the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) Practicum.
Lori has been with George Mason University since May 2005. She holds a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, an M.A. from the University of Minnesota, and a Ph.D. in Education Policy from George Mason University.
