This session features a discussion with Professor Holly Mason Badra (Associate Director of Women and Gender Studies, GMU) on Kurdish women’s experiences of erasure in social, creative, and historical landscapes, while also exploring progress and efforts made to empower Kurdish women through archival and literary representation. Mason Badra will also talk about and read from her recently released collection Sleeping in the Courtyard: Contemporary Kurdish Writers in Diaspora.
