The Plaza at Mason Square hosts dynamic weekly programming and ongoing special events, open to the Mason and greater Arlington community. All activities are free and open to the public. Registration for these events is not required and these events are offered at a first come first serve basis. While registration is not required, we do ask that you sign in at the registration table when you arrive.
Amenities
Meet a friend for coffee, take a break between classes, or participate in one of the new weekly programs and events. The Plaza at Mason Square has plenty of chairs, tables, and large umbrellas to keep you comfortable in the sun. The Plaza is also equipped with free wifi and outlets are available across the plaza for charging all electronic devices.
MAKER SPACE CART
Get inspired by the Mason Square campus and express it with our free drawing and craft supplies provided by our Maker Space Cart! Adults and kids alike are invited to get creative. Materials are always changing, but drawing pencils, beads, and paper are always available. Bring your creative ideas and see what you can make! The Maker Space cart is available every Monday-Thursday from 10 AM-7 PM.
GAMES CART
Ready to roll the dice, connect four, or say uno? A variety of board games are available daily on the Plaza with our Games Cart! The Games Cart is available every Monday-Thursday from 10 AM-7 PM and is great entertainment for you, your friends, and family! Not familiar with all the board games? No problem! Our Plaza Programming Assistants are there to help and answer any questions you might have.
PING PONG
Test your skills and find opponents at our two state-of-the-art ping pong tables. Our ping pong tables are located under the overhang on the Plaza and are equipped with paddles and ping pong balls for use. See you on the courts soon!
BOOK CART
The Book Cart provides the use of books, newspapers, and magazines in the park during warm weather months. Read it, love it, leave it as you enjoy the different items on the Plaza's Book Cart. The Book Cart will be wintering on the 2nd floor of Van Metre Hall.
GIANT GAMES
Every Monday-Thursday from 10 AM-7 PM join us on the Plaza to test your cornhole skills, play a round of giant connect four, enjoy a game of giant chess, and practice your balance with jenga! There is something for everyone!
VISIT MASON SQUARE CAFE
A great cup of coffee is right inside Van Metre Hall! Mason Square Cafe is a casual restaurant, bakery, and café. We serve Starbucks and Boba Tea!
OUTDOOR KEYBOARD
Play one of your favorite tunes or enjoy an afternoon showing off your skills. Our outdoor keyboard is available Monday through Friday starting at 11 AM - 3 PM. All skills and ages are welcome!
MINI GOLF
Bring your big golf game to the tiny turf! Grab a golf club, golf balls, and have fun. You can find our mini golf course out on the plaza, along with our mini golf supplies bin where you will find all the things you need to play a great game of mini golf.
